Mathopedia- An e-learning app for maths

Case Study

Problem: Math has always been a challenge for so many kids. Online tests feel little intimidating.
My vision: My vision is to create a product that aims to help students watch videos, take tests and can hold one-on-one conversation with teachers and vice versa.

Research

Target Audience: This app was targeted towards Students of grade 5 to 10. Also the audience would include teachers aged 25 onwards.

User interview: I called some of my friends and random people on facebook from a parenting group who have similar ages of children and asked them what help would they like from an app for mathematics. Also asked the friends who teach in schools about what should be added in such an app. So many have following issues:
From teachers:
There were sometimes connectivity issues while taking online classes.
Grading so many children’s tests will strain eyes.
Children might not give fair tests.
From Children:
Online classes are sometimes boring and we lose interest as they are not interactive enough.
For little children it is difficult to make them sit and concentrate.
Taking test online is scary sometimes.

User persona

All key findings

Teachers:
How can an app enhance your experience?
Auto grading tool otherwise downloading only necessary answer sheets
A way through which students can be contacted one-on-one.
Kids can take tests on their own times. Every test should be having different set of questions.

Students:
How can an app enhance your experience?
Videos for each chapter differently. So there is no confusion.
When we have some serious issues we can schedule a call with teacher and discuss.

Parents: One concern that is from parents side that app should not have any extra images, quick and accurate solution as children get bored quickly.
